5 of my 2022 goals

Happy New Year everyone! We made it to 2022 and boy, am I looking forward to it! Just like many of us, I have set out some yearly goals that I hope to achieve by the end of this year and in this post, I thought I’d share five of them with you. So, let’s jump straight in with the first of my many goals…

Goal Number 1: Improve my Dutch 🇳🇱

I’m ashamed to say that my Dutch has gone from bad to worse, and I want to make sure that I don’t lose my knowledge of the language. To help me, I have bought myself and have been gifted some Dutch reading books, started listening to a Dutch podcast made by one of my favourite influencers and her friends, AND have a whole Spotify playlist dedicated to Dutch artists.

My aim is to have a full conversation with one of my good friends who is a Flemish-speaker (Belgian Dutch), so fingers crossed it goes well!

Goal Number 2: Read at least 12 books this year 📚

You are looking at a self-confessed bookworm who has a slight addiction to starting way too many books at the same time, to the point where she doesn’t even get the chance to finish one! My reading last year was absolutely atrocious and I hope to get it back on track this year.

This month I will be (re)starting ‘Black Girl Finance’ by Selina Flavius – a recommendation from one of my closet friends – and I hope to learn a few tips and tricks on improving my personal finance!

Goal Number 3: Commit to staying fit 💪🏾

I find that whenever I have a morning workout, I feel much more energised and willing to complete my tasks for the day! I already (naturally) wake up at around 7AM and so it’s only right that I start my fay with either some stretches, some ultra-mat Pilates or even a workout!

Another aim I have for this year is to build the confidence to go to the gym. It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do but have been fearful of, mainly because I have no idea of what I’m doing! However, that will no longer be the case by June (I hope!).

Goal Number 4: Learn three new skills ✏️

I love learning new skills that will benefit me both in my personal and my professional life. This year, I want to learn three new skills that may seem a little random but in reality they seem really interesting and fun! And here they are:

  • Coding
  • Audio narrating
  • Rollerskating

I know, pretty random but throughout the whole of 2021, I have seen so many TikTok’s and read articles or personal journeys of other that have eventually convinced me that ‘it’s a sign’. I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes!

Goal Number 5: Grow Lifestyle-ish presence on social platforms 💻

I have had my blog for over three years and this October will mark two years of our presence on Instagram. I definitely want to see my little space on the Internet to reach more places and experience more engagement. That means that I will have to switch up my social media strategy in order to achieve this and by the end of this year, I hope to reach active 500 followers!

Another platform that I want to start seeing Lifestyle-ish is Pinterest! I love how peaceful and therapeutic it is and I find that there are so many blogger benefiting from the platform. And so, I too shall be enrolling myself in the University of YouTube, and SkillShare University to deepening my knowledge.

I would love to hear some of the goals you have for the new year, so please feel free to share them in the comments down below. I’m ready for 2022 and I hope that this year is good to all of us. But remember: it’s down to you to make sure this year count.
